2017 Red Dun Gelding

Jake Smith, Broken Bow, OK

Hoot is a 2017 dun gelding that stands 14.2 hands and has seen it all. He has been hauled extensively in the heeling and breakaway. He was raised by a close friend and has been part of our family for the last two years. He is really gentle, with no bad habits or vices whatsoever. He is 100% sound, and is extremely tough. I’ve owned him close to 2 years now and he’s never taken a lame step. He has plenty of speed and is really quick-footed in the roping arena for any level of roper but will throttle down for a beginner. My whole family rides this horse, from my dad to my 3-year-old boy. He stands quiet in the box and scores great. He leaves flat and is super easy to breakaway on as well. If you want to track the calf or steer, he’ll stay right with ‘em and has a smooth stop. He has been rode outside and on trails a LOT! He’s even had his fair share of hog hunting done on him. This horse has been rode in all levels of competition. He has been competed on and earned money at places such as, Rodeo Houston, the Timed Event Championship, World Series Finale, the Riata Buckle, and won the HPI heeling at the Pitzer Ranch, plus many more! Hoot is the same every time and has nothing wrong with him. There’s no tricks to him at all. He is easy to catch, and shoe. He will stand tied all day and hauls great. We all have to make tough decisions sometimes, especially when rodeoing doesn’t go as planned, and this is one we have thought about a lot but I know anyone would love this horse and I know through this sale, chances are, he will go to a great home.
