With confirmation and color "Canyon" is as breathtaking as the Grand Canyon. He has never met a stranger! Canyon's rich dappled coat, significant hip, and baby doll head will have you at hello as he greets you every morning! Let's talk pedigree. One of the best crosses of run and cow that we can't help but brag about. An own son of Firewater Canyon (barrel earnings $280K & offspring earning $500K+), and a daughter of Quejanaisalena (NCHA earnings of $338K & offspring earnings $1.3Mil.+). He checks all boxes, including eligible incentive programs, pedigree, conformation, size, looks, and disposition. Indeed, he has been one of the most uncomplicated horses we have trained, a natural under saddle in and out of the arena. Do you like fancy bells and whistles? Why yes, check another box on your list. Canyon has a reining handle, an excellent turnaround, lopes beautiful circles, lead change, and can undoubtedly STOP! His gaits are smooth, including his jog, extended trot, and his rocking chair collected lope. In the team roping, you will really appreciate Canyon's handiness. He will go as fast or slow as you want in all maneuvers. Scores excellent runs to a good spot, and rates off, with perfect timing on your delivery—has an unprecedented move in the corner. In the heeling and breakaway, he has a smooth start and lets you see your shot while working on his hocks. Canyon's skill set and handle would cross over well in the barrel pen, making him an excellent all-around gelding for anyone who wants to do it all. He has been hauled from the bright lights to the branding fire, machinery, dogs, walkers, and bicyclists. He will be very cowy and patient with a ton of ranch horse experience doctoring cattle, branding and sorting. A savvy trail gelding, he crosses all obstacles confidently and pays attention to where his feet are. He is sure-footed in steep country with a mighty walk uphill and a relaxed going down, almost like crawling on his hind end. He is a crowd pleaser as he has carried flags at rodeos and grand entries and always receives compliments. Canyon gets along with other horses while turned out, tied in the trailer or next to one at the saddle house. Quiet to clip, bathe, and enjoy! We think a lot of Canyon. He is a sale highlight we are excited to offer at "The Horse Sale." We would love to schedule a time for you to ride Canyon for yourself. Visit us at turnerperformancehorses.com and watch for Canyon at the ropings up until the sale. He has passed a recent vet exam along with radiographs. We have enjoyed having Canyon in our program. He has exceeded expectations and is ready for his new family! Give us a call at 406-381-2347.
