He’s topped the RAM National Circuit Finals, the Texas Circuit Finals, and San Antonio, holding the world record there with a 3.3, and many more. It is estimated that Marty has won Clay approximately over $3 million dollars in his career. He has been on the cover of the Team Roping Journal and the Rodeo News. Marty has recently been ridden by 12-year-old Miley Richey, the sister-in-law of Clay. Marty competed at his last NFR this past December 2022. He has been successful in many different set ups. From the grass at Pendleton, to 3.3 second runs, to small building set-ups like the NFR, and has proven himself to be one of the greatest and most recognizable head horses of all time. Marty is a full contact horse that can go behind a World Series barrier and come back the next run and score one out open-jackpot style. Marty is a natural born winner who is enjoyable to ride, extremely fast, very cowy, quiet in the box, and well suited for any rider. It is understood that Marty is an irreplaceable horse and has been the driving force behind Smith’s success in the past five years. Smith hopes to see Marty go to a good home and off the rodeo road as a thank you for everything he gave.
