From weekly jackpots to some of the largest paying divisional events in the country Rancho Rio IS the Team Roping Capital of the World.
Constructed on 55 pristine desert acres just minutes from downtown Wickenburg, Rancho Rio is one of Arizona’s premier multi-use facilities. Each year our location hosts a multitude of equine events, gives visitors and snowbirds a place to spend the winter and serves as a trailhead for horseback rides through the scenic miles of the Hassayampa River bed.
Complete with two outdoor arenas Rancho Rio will see some 30,000 team roping teams annually. In the month of December alone, there are more than 60 ropings scheduled. To see what’s coming up, jump on over to our events page!
Rancho Rio is home to the National Team Roping tour along with the NTR National Finals held each year in March.
In 2015 Rancho Rio introduced The Horse Sale at Rancho Rio which has quickly become one of the industry’s top performance horse sales and is held annually in conjunction with the NTR National Finals.
In addition to weekly roping jackpots, you will find opportunities for team roping practice and clinics as well as weekly barrel racing events throughout the winter months. Rancho Rio is also home to a number of events benefiting the Wickenburg community.
Since it’s inception, The Horse Sale at Rancho Rio has become the leading invitational rope horse sale in the country and the premier horse sale of the Team Roping Capital of the World. Held each year in Wickenburg, Arizona, in conjunction with the National Team Roping Finals, The Horse Sale at Rancho Rio is limited to 65 top rope horses and draws consignors and buyers from all over the U.S. and Canada.
The seventh annual Art of the Cowgirl main gathering will take place February 25-March 1, 2025, at Rancho Rio. The event features female makers, including master artists, silversmiths, braiders, saddle makers, and horsewomen. The event will not only provide entertainment and honor women of the West, but also facilitate fellowships to individuals to further their knowledge with master artists in the trade of choice. The contributions of these cowgirl makers are truly worth celebrating and we look forward to sharing them with you.
