* Selections will be made prior to December 1st, 2024, and selected horses/consignors will be notified via email.
Basic Guidelines
- Late submissions WILL NOT be accepted.
- Poor- or low-quality images and videos WILL NOT be accepted.
- Incomplete submissions WILL NOT be accepted.
Nomination Fee & Commission
The Horse Sale at Rancho Rio nomination fee is $1,500 per head with 9% commission.
Full-Page Catalog Ad (Optional)
If you would like your horse to be featured on a full page in the official sale catalog, be sure to select this option in the nomination form. Cost is $500 and due at the time of nomination. Additional photos and information may be requested. If your horse is not selected this will be refunded along with your nomination fee. Note: all full-page ads will be designed by our in-house designer.
Ownership (Mandatory)
- Horse papers MUST be in the consignor’s name by sale day. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- No double transfers allowed. Original papers along with a signed transfer will be due at check-in.
* If selling as an agent this must be approved by sale staff at time of nomination.
Horse Requirements
- No Grade horses will be accepted.
- No Mares or Stallions accepted unless approved by sale staff prior to nomination.
- Must have current (within 6 months) coggins and current health to unload on-site
- Horse should be able to pass a full vet check, or otherwise noted in the catalog. All horses will be guaranteed within 72 hours from the end of the sale. The seller is responsible for any and all guarantees. Except as otherwise announced by the auctioneer, the consignor warrants the following: 1) Title of the horse is free and clear; 2) The animal is sound of eyes, wind and limb; 3) The animal is not a cribber, windsucker, stall weaver or parrot mouthed; 4) The animal has not been nerved or have navicular disease or is foundered; 5) The sex or condition as a gelding or ridgeling is as described in the sale catalog or announced at time of sale. If any of these conditions are announced, the consignor is held harmless for the condition. PLEASE REFER TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALL GUARANTEE & DISPUTE INFORMATION
- Horses are encouraged to have a full set of radiographs closer to sale day. Additional information will be sent to all selected consignors.
Video Requirements
All videos must be uploaded to Vimeo (preferred) or YouTube ONLY and submitted via the corresponding URL link. No RAW video files will be accepted at any point. Videos are not required for nomination; however, you may provide one (1) link in the nomination form. Additional video deadlines for consignments will be outlined upon selection.
* NOTE: First-time consignors are REQUIRED to include one video link for review.
Photo Requirements
All horses MUST have PROFESSIONAL photos at the time of nomination. HIGH RESOLUTION images MUST be submitted via the online form. Photos should be at least 1 MB minimum and under 5 MB maximum in size. Pictures are subject to selection. If images are of low-quality horse will not be considered.
- Photos should professional, high-quality images
- Photos must have no foreign objects in the background
- Horses should be well-groomed with no tail bags
- If saddled in photos, tack should be clean
