LOT 68: JALAPENO HENRY CHEX
JOHN WAYNE2016 Palomino Gelding
We are very proud to offer Jalapeno Henry Chex, or as we call him at the ranch, John Wayne, to The Horse Sale at Rancho Rio! We have been fortunate enough to take partnership and train John Wayne through our great friend, Mr. Kevin Carpenter. At Crown Cattle & Horse Co. we are firm believers that the daily tasks and pressures of ranch work lay the best foundations for today's modern rope horse. John Wayne has done it all from long days trailing cows, pairing cattle out, sorting cattle in the alley, branding calves, doctoring cattle outside, loading cattle in the trailer, and a main mount while calving 1,000 head of mother cows. BUT… his most favorite thing of all is heading steers! John Wayne is both gifted and talented on the front side of cattle. With his structure, build, quick foot speed, and huge heart allow John Wayne to be a freight train off the horn and flawless in the way he finishes and faces on cattle. Standing at 15.2 hands and weighing in at 1280 pounds we knew this horse was going to be a champion from the moment we started our training process. We have hauled John Wayne to every team roping, ranch rodeo, and team branding we've had a chance to go to. The pressures of town and new arenas haven't phased him; he still leaves the box hard, flat, and off your hand. He is the same horse every time! A true testament to this horse’s versatility inside and outside the arena has been shown through Wyatt riding him at the higher number ropings and Heidi, riding him in the lower number ropings. Setting all that aside, you can see how great this horse is and how he cares for his rider by how much our two daughters have ridden him inside and outside the arena. The influence of this horse’s name came from his size, good looks, and keen sense of always wanting to do right! He is the perfect combination of brawn and beauty. This John Wayne has True Grit!
