“A lovely horse is always an experience…it is an emotional experience of the kind that is spoiled by words.” —Beryl Markham
No doubt about it, meeting Crusher is an emotional experience. He is just a horse blessed with a natural, God-given wow factor. He brings so much to the table, has so much to offer, and we are so proud have him here this year.
It’s hard not to talk about Crusher’s looks right off the bat. Even a person who says they don’t like palominos can’t help but notice like this showy gelding. His thick, long mane and tail is white as we’ve ever seen, and his coat is as gold as gold can be. What makes his color even cooler, though, is his size. He’s a big, athletic horse, built to perform. Crusher’s papers explain the good looks and talent. He is by $13 million sire Wimpys Little Step, out of a Hollywood Dun It daughter. He will spin a hole in the ground and slide a mile. He is a finely-tuned machine, with all the bells and whistles, always ready to find his spot in the winner’s circle. He has written a good resume in his heading career.
As a 4-year-old at the American Rope Horse Futurity Association, Crusher placed fifth in the Intermediate Open. In 2023, Cody Wheeler won the #14 at the Wylie Hicks Memorial Roping and placed in the BFI #12. Brooke rode Crusher in Arizona the winter of his 6-year-old year from #14 to the #10. Mainly, it’s been Wheeler at the reins for the past 3 years and he’s hauled him to jackpots and rodeos. Crusher is fully paid into the Riata Stallion Incentive and has Riata earnings. Wheeler likes that Crusher travels well and is good about all the sites and sounds of town. When it comes to making runs, Crusher is the same every time. He scores solid, runs really hard, and faces in the blink of an eye.
Crusher is a truly lovely horse that stands out in a crowd. Everyone wants to show up to the roping on the prettiest horse in town and Crusher makes that happen. He’s the kind of horse that will make your friends jealous!
